In 2012, Dmitry Druzhinsky took on a $20 million venture to construct New York’s finest health and fitness destination. After the extended negotiation process, a desirable three-acre lot in Coney Island was secured, and plans to construct a 120,000 sq. ft. complex, the biggest of its kind in Brooklyn, were drawn. After completing construction in 2014, MatchPoint NYC immediately pushed the envelope for recreational infrastructure across the city, becoming the preferred fitness center for families, professional athletes, and charitable events. MatchPoint’s unrivaled, state of the art building provides an expansive array of training programs, organized sports matches, and fitness classes that many facilities simply cannot accommodate, while its dedicated and professionally trained crew of certified instructors, personal trainers and nutritionists motivate, push and encourage members to increase their overall health and happiness.
MatchPoint NYC was the site for the annual tennis tournament by R Baby Foundation for the second year in a row on Saturday, April 16. Dmitry Druzhinsky, the venue’s co-founder is pleased to announce that more than $250,000 was raised as an outcome of the event, which featured tennis players and Wall Street’s chief investors. The R Baby Foundation is America’s first and single nonprofit body with the goal of saving babies’ lives by enhancing pediatric care, and till date, has supported hospital programs and safeguarded over one million lives by contributing $8 million dollars.
Because of the unforeseen success of Brooklyn’s MatchPoint NYC, co-founder Dmitry Druzhinsky has announced that two more locations are on the way. The prominent real estate developer noted that the second facility will be opening its doors to the public late in 2016, with 2017 seeing the following location.
MatchPoint NYC is located on a three acre lot on Coney Island and features over 120,000 square feet of state of the art equipment and amenities, but its most famous offering is an expansive nine court indoor tennis center, the largest such facility in Brooklyn. The luxury fitness facility was co-founded by Dmitry Druzhinsky in 2013, after noticing a lack of recreational centers in the region. Resulting from his dedication to members, employees, and the surrounding community, the complex quickly became the selected venue for families, professional athletes, and cause driven charity events. “They are great to work with,” noted Darren Port, CEO of Powered by Professionals and an organizing member of this year’s tournament. “He has really gone out of his way to invite us to work with them, and that has helped make the event really special in the two years we have had it here. The foundation does a great job in keeping its expenses low to ensure that the money raised goes towards the cause, and MatchPoint’s generosity helps make that possible.”
