Dmitry Druzhinsky notes that the R Baby Foundation is America’s sole nonprofit organization with the mission of saving infants’ lives through improving pediatric care, and to date, has raised over $8 million for hospital programs and saved more than one million lives. The charity’s tennis tournament was first created in 2010, under the direction of Jason Pinsky, “Six years ago I saw the foundation was doing a golf event, and I suggested we should do a tennis event. The first year was sort of a test and it went well, and the demand has been high ever since. We bring together a great group of competitive guys for a great cause.” In 2015 and 2016, the Foundation honorably raised more than $500,000 for childcare initiatives including telemedicine with pediatric professionals, mobile simulation training programs, and symposiums.
On Saturday, April 16, MatchPoint NYC hosted the R Baby Foundation’s annual charitable tennis tournament for the second consecutive year. The venue’s co-founder, Dmitry Druzhinsky is pleased to announce that over $250,000 was raised at the event, which welcomed tennis professionals along with Wall Street’s leading financers.
MatchPoint NYC offers children and adult swimming lessons in the facility’s Junior Olympic pool and Kids Aquatic Center, a program that has become a favorite of local residents. Everyone from toddlers to aspiring Olympians participates in the training led by coach Konstantin Petrov. Dmitry Druzhinsky believes the swimmers are in good hands, “Konstantin currently holds a Level 4 Certificate from the American Swimming Coaching Association, placing him in the top five percentile of all coaches in the country.” As a former Olympic Bronze medalist, Petrov brings more than thirty years of experience on the local, national, and international levels.
Covering three-acres and containing over 120,000 sq. ft., MatchPoint NYC hosts an impressive array of equipment and amenities, including a juice bar and on-site restaurant. Its most notable feature, says Dmitry Druzhinsky, is the expansive, nine court indoor tennis arena, the largest tennis facility in Brooklyn. American and international tennis greats frequent the grounds, including the former number one women’s player in the world, Dinara Safina and Kazakhstan’s Aleksandr Nedovyesv. The R Baby Foundation, which provides aid to hospital programs for endangered infants, has used MatchPoint as the location for its New York Tennis Tournament for the past two years. The competition, played by Wall Street’s elite financers, has raised over $500,000.
Coney Island, an area traditionally lacking solid recreational infrastructure, is now home to one of the area’s newest and most popular facilities. MatchPoint NYC is inspired by entrepreneur and co-founder Dmitry Druzhinsky’s passion for athletics and devotion to South Brooklyn. After noticing a dire need in his community, Druzhinsky opened the center in 2013. His dedication to offering New York’s preeminent fitness experience has resulted in the center becoming the preferred venue of families, professional athletes, fundraising events, and world-class tournaments.
Dmitry Druzhinsky, along with the staff at MatchPoint NYC, proudly host a wide range of activities, providing a superior center for sporting excellence. For example, the aquatic director Konstantin Petrov (an outstanding athlete with a Bronze medal from the Olympics and the European Championships Gold medals) trains the swim team on a year-round schedule designed to help athletes meet peak performance. Previously successful competitions also include the International Sambo Championship, where participants from all over the world attended. MatchPoint NYC partnered with the American Amateur Sambo Federation (AASF), and is proud to be the venue of choice for more than ten countries who sent athletes to participate in their Sambo, Judo, or mixed martial arts activities. In the cutting-edge tennis facility, MatchPoint highly ranked national and international players participate in the world-class junior tournament training system, a program available based on invite only. Offering personalized coaching, intensive training activities, match play, mental conditioning, and world-class competition, MatchPoint NYC is the premier fitness center in New York for both youth and adults.
With more than 120,000 square feet of available space, many prominent sporting associations consider MatchPoint NYC, co-founded by Dmitry Druzhinsky, an excellent place to host tournaments and special events. Olympic silver medalist and professional tennis star Dinara Safina attended the Say No to Bullying! Fitness Day. This time, the Personal Training and Group Fitness staff at MatchPoint NYC provided free blood pressure tests, family entertainment and engagement in the problems associated with bullying. At the same time, a one-of-a-kind, exclusive indoor cycling system was introduced. Going a step further than stationary bikes, the Real Ryder Indoor Cycling system provides the first of it’s kind in New York, a real interactive cycling experience.
A Brooklyn-based luxury recreation center designed for the whole family is fast becoming an international destination for tennis, swimming, basketball, gymnastics, martial arts and other events. As members and guests take advantage of the different activities available, well-known professional athletes are on-site for their routine training sessions. From famous celebrity guests to special occasions and fundraisers, there are an abundance of happenings taking place at MatchPoint NYC. The luxury recreation center’s size and versatility makes for ease of use and expert competition, including regulation sized facilities for professional events. Co-founder of the premier sports and fitness center, Dmitry Druzhinsky, is proud of the activities and sporting events happening at MatchPoint NYC.
MatchPoint NYC members, the staff, and Druzhinsky, are always honored to be the venue of choice for cause-driven fundraisers. These events give players an opportunity to demonstrate their skills in fierce but friendly matches, while inspiring young athletes to be healthy, follow their passion, and do good in the community. In addition to wall ball tournaments, co-founder Dmitry Druzhinsky hosts Wall Street finance industry professionals each year as they compete in the annual R Baby Foundation New York Tennis Tournament, improving outcomes of medical care for infants by funding programs at hospitals, such as telemedicine with pediatric experts, mobile simulation training program, symposiums and more. In just two years at MatchPointNYC, the foundation has raised more than $500,000.
Each year, politicians, business and media professionals, and celebrities gather along with sports fans to watch some fast-paced competition. Since 2015 local athletes from Brooklyn and the Bronx have been smashing ball to wall in the Johnny Ray Memorial Pro Wall Ball Tournament, which takes place at MatchPoint NYC. According to Dmitry Druzhinsky, a fierce cross-town rivalry is led by Brooklyn Borough President Eric Adams and Bronx Borough President Ruben Diaz Jr. to get inner-city and under-served youth engaged in physical activity, and also benefit initiatives from the U.S. Wall Ball Association for education, anti-violence and anti-obesity. This tournament started in 2012 and celebrates the life of the USWA CEO’s brother Jonathan Ray, the inspiration behind the creation of the association. Druzhinsky welcomes the opportunity to host organizations that promote a healthy lifestyle to complex.
