Dmitry Druzhinsky created the elite sports center in 2013, after realizing a deficiency of recreational infrastructure in the area. Due to his commitment to club’s members, employees, and the community, the complex has fast become the selected venue for families, expert athletes, and cause related charity events. “They are great to work with,” said Darren Port, CEO of Powered by Professionals and one of the runners of this year’s tournament, “He has gone out of the way to invite us to work together and that has helped make the event outstanding in the two years we have held it here. The foundation does a superb job in keeping its expenses at the lowest to make sure that the funds raised goes towards the cause, and MatchPoint’s patronage helps make that possible.”
MatchPoint’s prized offering, exclaims Dmitry Druzhinsky, is a cutting edge indoor tennis facility with nine courts, plus the six additional mini courts for youth training. Local and international phenoms train there, including Kazakhstan legend Aleksandr Nedovyesv and the former top ranked women’s player in the world, Dinara Safina. The celebrated youth training curriculum is led by highly ranked national and international competitors, with personalized lessons and drills in addition to mental and physical coaching. Moreover, USPTA certified coaches provide Quick Start, Junior Development, adult leagues, and specialized programs for beginner, intermediate, and advanced levels. For parents who wish to relax and enjoy a meal or beverage while observing their children, a WIFI-ready cafe and lounge is located above the courts and offers couches, viewing areas, HDTVs, and a juice bar.
Jason Pinsky founded the charity’s tennis tournament in the year 2010, “Six years back I found out that the foundation was organizing a golf event, and suggested to them that we should start a tennis event. The preliminary year was like a test and it went well, and the demand has been massive ever since. We amass an incredible set of enterprising individuals for a wonderful cause.” In 2015 and 2016, the Foundation is delighted to have raised more than $500,000 for childcare works including telemedicine with pediatric specialists, mobile simulation training programs, and symposiums. Dmitry Druzhinsky’s MatchPoint NYC is located on a three acre lot on Coney Island and has more than 120,000 square feet of swanky equipment and facilities, but its most important feature is an immense nine court indoor tennis arena, the biggest of its kind in Brooklyn.
In 2012, Dmitry Druzhinsky took on a $20 million venture to construct New York’s finest health and fitness destination. After the extended negotiation process, a desirable three-acre lot in Coney Island was secured, and plans to construct a 120,000 sq. ft. complex, the biggest of its kind in Brooklyn, were drawn. After completing construction in 2014, MatchPoint NYC immediately pushed the envelope for recreational infrastructure across the city, becoming the preferred fitness center for families, professional athletes, and charitable events. MatchPoint’s unrivaled, state of the art building provides an expansive array of training programs, organized sports matches, and fitness classes that many facilities simply cannot accommodate, while its dedicated and professionally trained crew of certified instructors, personal trainers and nutritionists motivate, push and encourage members to increase their overall health and happiness.
Because of the unforeseen success of Brooklyn’s MatchPoint NYC, co-founder Dmitry Druzhinsky has announced that two more locations are on the way. The prominent real estate developer noted that the second facility will be opening its doors to the public late in 2016, with 2017 seeing the following location.
